The New England Aquarium is a 12 to 15 minute walk (0.8 miles) from Pi Alley Garage. Head down State Street from the Old State House, cross the Rose Kennedy Greenway at the waterfront, and the Aquarium is on Central Wharf, just to the right of Long Wharf. It is a longer walk than the garages on the wharves, and that is the trade: a flat, posted rate and a stroll along the Greenway instead of waterfront parking prices.
The Aquarium's four-storey Giant Ocean Tank, the penguin colony and the harbor seals outside the entrance make it one of the most visited attractions in New England, and the whale watches and harbor cruises leave from Long Wharf next door. The Greenway, the Harborwalk and the ferry to the Harbor Islands are all on the same stretch of waterfront, and Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market are on the way back to the garage.
Aquarium parking rates
On weekdays, anything from an hour and a half to twelve hours is one flat rate, so the Aquarium, a whale watch and lunch at Quincy Market are covered by a single price. Evenings after 5pm and all weekend, up to ten hours is covered by the evening and weekend rate. Full rates, including short stays, are on the daily rates page.
