Faneuil Hall is a six-minute walk from Pi Alley Garage. Leave the garage at 275 Washington Street, head north past the Old State House to State Street, and Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market are two blocks east on Congress Street. That is close enough to carry a bag of shopping back, and far enough to miss the queue of cars circling the marketplace itself.

Faneuil Hall was built in 1742 as a gift to the town from the merchant Peter Faneuil and earned the name "Cradle of Liberty" for the meetings held there before the Revolution. Today it anchors Faneuil Hall Marketplace: the hall, Quincy Market's food colonnade, and the North and South Market buildings, with street performers in the plazas between them. It is one of the busiest spots in the city on summer weekends, on Black Friday, and through the holiday season when the trees are lit.

Faneuil Hall parking rates

On weekdays a stay of anything from an hour and a half up to twelve hours is one flat rate, so lunch at Quincy Market costs the same as a full day of shopping and sightseeing. Enter after 5pm on a weeknight, or any time from Friday afternoon through Sunday night, and the evening and weekend rate covers up to ten hours. Pi Alley is never closed, so there is no rush back before a gate comes down.

Why park at Pi Alley instead of at the marketplace

  • One posted rate table, shown in full on the daily rates page, so you know the price before you pull in.
  • Reserve ahead on SpotHero and your space is waiting, even when the garages around Dock Square are full.
  • Covered, well-lit and staffed 24 hours, with the pedestrian exit on Washington Street.
  • The Freedom Trail, Old State House and Boston Common are all on the same walk, so you can park once for the whole day.

Pi Alley Garage has been family owned and operated in this corner of downtown since 1969. Reserve online, or just drive in: the entrance is on Washington Street between School and State Streets, with 6′8″ clearance for standard passenger vehicles.
